Day 01: Arrival at Bhubaneswar
Begin your Tour. Arrive into BhubaneswarWelcome to Vardhman's "Orissa
Tour"!On arrival in Bhubneswar, you will be met and transferred by
Vardhman's representative to your hotel. Rest for a while and then, proceed
for a half-day sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Lingaraja Temple,
Mukateswara Temple, Rajarani Temple and Vaital Temple.Lingaraja Temple:
Lingaraj temple is one of the most popular temples of Orissa. The temple
is dedicated to Lord Shiva, also known as ‘Lingaraj’. It is
adorned with beautiful sculptures, which have been carved on the spire.
Lingaraja temple is approximately 54.8 metres high and enshrines a huge
statue of Lord Shiva, made up of granite. The idol is 8 feet in diameter
and is placed on a platform that is about 8 inches above ground. The deity
is bathed everyday with water, milk and bhang (marijuana).
Mukateswara Temple: Mukteswara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Mukteswara,
is carved with figures of ascetics in several poses of meditation. The
highlight of the temple, is the magnificent torana - the decorative gateway,
an arched masterpiece, reminiscent of Buddhist influence in Orissa.. The
sculptured gateway, the jagamohana with diamond shaped latticed windows
and decorated interiors and the plethora of sculptural work all deserve
mention in this temple dedicated to Shiva Although it is only a small
monument rising to a height of 35 feet. Literally every inch of its surface
is carved. This temple has also been described as a dream realized in
sandstone and it is a monument where it is said sculpture and architecture
are in complete harmony with one another. This 10th century temple built
in the year of AD 950, is an important transition point, between the early
and the later phases of the Kalinga school of temple architecture. The
sculptural decoration of the Mukteswara is exquisitely executed, and it
is often referred to as the "gem of Oriya architecture". Richly
sculpted, the temple offers pride of place to tales from the Panchatantra.
The arched gateway is particularly fine. It also shows excellent combinations
of Hindu and Buddhist and Jain features, which find a common voice in
much of Orissan temple craft.
Rajarani Temple:Rajarani temple is one of the most renowned temples in
Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Orissa. It is made from the wonderful
red and gold sandstone, which is locally known as Rajarani and this is
what gives the temple its name of ‘Raja Rani’. The major attractions
of the temple consist of the elaborately carved figurines. Rajarani temple
of Bhubaneshwar is dedicated to Lord Brahma. The origin of this temple
can be dated back to the eleventh century.Overnight: Hotel
Day 02: Bhubaneswar - Ratnagiri - Bhubaneswar
This morning after breakfast leave on a full day excursion to Ratnagiri.
Here, you will see the ruins and remains of Buddhism in Orissa, in the
form of Buddhist monasteries and sculptures excavated on the hilltops.
By late evening, come back to your hotel in Bhubaneswar and retire for
the night. Overnight: Hotel
Day 03: Bhubaneswar - Baliguda
After having breakfast at the hotel, drive to the beaches of Baliguda.
After reaching there, check in at the hotel and freshen up a bit. Thereafter
is the time to go to the beach and enjoy swimming or just relaxing on
the warm sand. Overnight: Hotel
Day 04: Baliguda - Rayagada
On the day 4 of your tour, proceed towards Rayagada, moving through
Belghar and Kothagargh. On the way, you will stop for a short visit
to Kauttiya Kondh Tribal villages. On arrival,check in at the hotel
and relax for the remaining part of the day.Overnight: Hotel
Day 05: Rayagada - Taptapani - Chilika
Today leave for the Chilka in the morning. On the way, there will
be a brief stoppage at Taptapani; to visit the hot water springs.On
arrival, check in at the hotel and then, go on a tour of Chilika Bird
Sanctuary. Later visit the famous Chilika beach. Overnight: Hotel
Day 06: Chilika - Puri
In the morning, drive down to Puri and upon arrival check in at
the hotel. The entire day will be spent in visiting the famous Puri
Beach and Swargadwar Beach. Puri beach is located on the vast and exotic
coastline of Orissa and at its south eastern region. This land of beautiful
temples has been very charming to the tourists from all over the country
who visit in thousands every year to Puri to take in the serene beauty
of the Puri beach.
Swargadwar Beach is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Puri,
located at a distance of approximately two kilometers from the Jagannath
Temple. This place holds great religious significance for people, as
it used to be the bathing place of Sri Chaitanyadev, a renowned prophet
of the Vaishnava sect. It is said that, as a reward for his devotion,
the great saint was merged into Lord Brahma and went to heaven.

Day 07: Puri - Konark - Puri
This morning after breakfast, visit the famous Jagannath Temple.
After that, leave on an excursion tour to Konark. Visit the Sun Temple
and the Konark beach. By late evening, you will be back at the hotel
for an overnight stay.Jagannath Temple: Jagannath Temple is one of the
most renowned as well as the biggest temples of Orissa. Established
in the 12th century, the temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath (Lord
Krishna), Lord of the Universe. The credit for laying the foundation
of the Jagannath temple of Puri goes to Raja Ananta Varman Chodaganga
Dev. The temple is located at a distance of 60 km from Bhubaneswar,
on the coast of Bay of Bengal, and is greatly revered by the devotees
following the Vaishnava traditions.Sun Temple:The Konark temple is widely
known not only for its architectural grandeur but also for the intricacy
and profusion of sculptural work. The entire temple has been conceived
as a chariot of the sun god with 24 wheels, each about 10 feet in diameter,
with a set of spokes and elaborate carvings. Seven horses drag the temple.
Two lions guard the entrance, crushing elephants. A flight of steps
lead to the main entrance. Overnight: Hotel
Day 08: Puri - Bhubaneswar
Morning at Leisure. Later in the afternoon transfer to Bhubaneswar
airport to catch flight for your destination to back home with sweet
